FAQ

Common Buyer Questions

These answers cover the usual situation. Send your project details at the end if your garment, material or timeline needs a specific answer.

01What is your MOQ?+

Our usual MOQ is 100 pcs per style and color. It can change a little depending on the fabric, garment style, color count and production setup.

02Can you make less than 100 pcs?+

Sometimes. It is easier when the fabric is available, the garment is not too complex and the decoration or packaging setup is simple. Send the project details and we will check if it is workable.

03Why can a small batch cost more per piece?+

Small batches still require sourcing, setup, sampling, printing or embroidery preparation, label work, QC and packing. Lower total quantity spreads those fixed tasks over fewer garments.

04Can you give me a ballpark price first?+

Yes, a rough idea is easy. Take a hoodie: a basic style in a common in-stock fabric with no special treatment is roughly USD 7-8 per piece; a premium one with heavy washing, embroidery, prints and several other processes can go up to around USD 20. That is only a direction. The real price depends on the fabric or GSM target, quantity per style and color, size range, processes, packaging and delivery country.

05Do you have a price list you can send?+

No. Every project is custom, so there is no price list. Tell us the item and we can give you a ballpark right away (for example a hoodie is roughly USD 7-8 for a basic style, up to around USD 20 for a premium one), then a real quote once fabric, quantity, size range, processes and packaging are clear.

06What information should I send for a quote?+

Send reference photos or a tech pack, fabric direction, quantity by style and color, size range, logo or label requirements, packaging needs, delivery country and target date.

07Can you quote from only a reference image?+

Yes, for a first discussion. The final price still needs confirmed fabric, measurements, construction, decoration, packaging and quantity.

08What fabric or GSM should I choose?+

Do not let AI decide the fabric or GSM by itself. Buy or find a physical sample you like first. Once you have touched the fabric, it is much easier to choose the right weight, handfeel and construction.

09Can you help source fabric and trims?+

Yes. We can review fabric composition, GSM, handfeel, color, trims, labels and packaging needs for custom apparel projects.

10Can you match my sample garment?+

We can review a physical sample or clear reference photos and look for a close production route. Exact matching depends on fabric availability, construction and finishing.

11Can you make private label clothing?+

Yes. We can discuss main labels, care labels, hangtags, packaging bags, stickers and carton marks together with the garment project.

12Can you help if I only have an idea?+

Yes, but clearer input saves time. Send references, the garment type, target buyer, quantity and the details you already know. We can help turn that into a sample brief.

13Can you copy a garment from another brand?+

We can use references to understand fit, fabric, construction and style direction. We do not recommend copying protected artwork, labels or brand-specific details.

14Can you make special processes such as tie-dye, embroidery or print?+

Yes, depending on the garment and artwork. Screen printing, digital printing, puff print, embroidery, tie-dye, garment dyeing and washing processes should be checked before sampling.

15How long does a sample take?+

A typical sample takes 7-14 days after requirements and materials are ready. Complex fabric, dyeing, printing, embroidery or trims can add time.

16What is the bulk lead time?+

A normal bulk production guide is about 30-45 days after sample approval. The real schedule depends on material readiness, quantity, processes, QC scope and packing.

17Do I need to approve a sample before bulk production?+

Yes. Bulk production should follow the approved physical sample, measurements, materials, colors, decoration and packaging instructions.

18What happens if the sample needs changing?+

We normally provide one free pattern adjustment opportunity. If the change is a major design change or a new requirement, extra sample cost may apply.

19What if the sample mistake is caused by Canton Fashion?+

If the mistake is clearly caused by our side, we will remake the sample without charging the same sample fee again.

20Can you rush an order?+

Yes, we can handle rush orders. The factories we work with produce for Shein and are used to fast turnarounds; for really urgent orders we can finish in about 2 weeks. Tell us your deadline first so we can confirm fabric availability and capacity. Sample approval and QC stay in the plan even when we rush.

21Will Chinese holidays affect the schedule?+

They can. Chinese New Year and major holidays may affect material supply, sampling and bulk production. If your launch date is fixed, tell us early.

22What QC steps should I expect?+

Typical checks include requirement review, material arrival, cutting, sewing, decoration, measurements, finished garment review, packing and export handoff.

23What if there is a quality issue?+

We review the issue and look for a practical solution. Depending on the case, the solution may be compensation, a discount on the next order, replacement, rework or another agreed fix.

24How do you reduce size or color problems?+

We use the approved sample, measurement points, tolerance, fabric confirmation, color reference and in-process checks. Some fabric and dye-lot variation can still happen, so approval standards should be clear before bulk.

25Can we arrange third-party inspection?+

Yes, if the inspection scope, standard, timing and report requirements are agreed before production or before shipment.

26Do you have BSCI or factory audit certificates?+

Yes. We are a manufacturing and quality-checking team, so we do not run factories ourselves, but the factory we work with holds BSCI. Ask us and we will send you a copy.

27Can you provide OEKO-TEX, GOTS or other material certificates?+

Yes. We do not run the mills or factories ourselves, but the mills we work with hold OEKO-TEX, and GOTS for organic fabrics, and the factory side holds BSCI. Ask us and we will send you a copy. For any other certificate, tell us your destination market and product requirement and we will check which one applies.

28Do you provide QC reports or production photos?+

We can discuss the reporting scope before the order. Photos, inspection notes or third-party reports should match the agreed project and QC requirements.

29Can you ship door to door (DDP)?+

Yes. Door-to-door (DDP) shipping is one of the things we do, including to Australia, the United States and Europe. The cost depends on the shipping method (air, sea or express), the route and the shipment size, so we confirm it together with your quotation.

30Can you estimate shipping cost?+

Yes, after the quantity, carton size, weight, destination and shipping method are clearer. Air, sea and express shipping can produce very different costs.

31Why is shipping sometimes expensive?+

Shipping cost depends on volume, weight, destination, customs route, fuel cost and delivery service. Small shipments often have a higher per-piece shipping cost.

32Can you update me during production?+

Yes. Production updates can include material status, sample progress, bulk progress, packing status and shipment preparation, depending on the project scope.

33What are your payment terms?+

For new customers: 30% deposit to start production, and the balance is paid in full before shipment. For returning customers, we can offer 30 to 60 days credit on the balance through Sinosure (China Export & Credit Insurance Corporation), subject to Sinosure's credit approval. The exact terms are confirmed in the proforma invoice for each order.

34After I pay the deposit, what else do you need?+

We still need final approved files and details: garment specs, size range, fabric, color, artwork, labels, packaging, delivery information and any QC requirements.

35Are you a factory or a trading company?+

We are neither a factory nor a trading company. We work very closely with a few selected factories that do not have their own international trading team, so we act as their international sales team. We are not simply buying from them and selling to you: we take part in pattern making, fabric and trim sourcing and quality inspection, so in general the whole production process.

36What products can Canton Fashion make?+

Common categories include hoodies, T-shirts, shirts, pants, joggers, shorts, dresses, blazers, coats, jackets, abaya and other custom apparel styles.

37Which markets do you work with?+

Canton Fashion mainly supports overseas apparel buyers, including brands and boutiques in markets such as the United States, Australia and Europe.

38Can you help a new fashion brand start production?+

Yes, if the project is realistic. A new brand should start with a clear product direction, reference sample, target quantity, target market and launch plan.

39Can I send files with my inquiry?+

Yes. You can send reference images or PDF files. JPG, PNG, WebP and PDF are accepted, up to 10 MB per file and 25 MB in total.

40How fast do you reply?+

Canton Fashion replies 7 days a week. A clear product brief usually gets a more useful first response.
